My name’s Liz and I’m a writer, photographer, recipe developer and the creator of EatWell Europe, the first healthy travel guide for major European cities. My first cookbook is being released next spring nationwide by Clarkson Potter (the people behind all of Giada de Laurentis’s cookbooks, and the Sara Britton’s gorgeous My New Roots cookbook, and all of Ina Garten’s books…I’m too excited about this and feel so lucky. My deepest secret dream is to hang out with Ina and Jeffrey).
Now, where were we? Oh, yeah.
Sprouted Routes is all about easy paths to a healthy, beautiful life. I believe that being healthy shouldn’t be difficult or stressful. It should enhance your life, not detract from it. It should be food that makes you salivate, makeup that makes you feel gorgeous and glowing, and fitness that makes your body go, “ahh, yeah – that’s the stuff.” My mission at Sprouted Routes is to make healthy living feel not only attainable but desirable – and straight up fun.
I spent years traveling the world as a newspaper columnist, and during my adventures, I got on the ground training in both the gastronomic realm and the art of healthy living. I studied with a healer in the Moroccan mountains; took cooking classes in Syria; and attended a sommelier school in Paris. I also worked on a goat farm in the south of France, where I learned I hate foie gras (sorry fancy food people!) and that I’m pretty decent at driving a tractor.
I don’t believe in labels, but my diet is often gluten free, sometimes vegan, and always full of fresh, in-season produce. I eat meat rarely, and when I do, I make sure it was raised as humanely as possible. I use organic beauty products, and I brush my teeth with clay (they’ve never been whiter!) While I will only buy grass-fed or pastured meat for myself, I don’t stress if a friend hands me a burger of questionable origin at a BBQ; while I try to meditate most mornings, sometimes I just want to sleep in and cuddle my boyfriend and kitten.
Interested in working together? I’m available for writing (especially travel + food related pieces), recipe development, as well as advertising and integrated posts on Sprouted Routes and the popular Sprouted Routes Instagram page. I work regularly with brands of all sizes to develop and photograph delicious, creative recipes that their audience will love, and will happily create recipes that are paleo, gluten free, vegan, vegetarian, refined sugar free, or simply chock full of produce and other healthy goodness, no restrictions required (the way I personally love to eat). Please note that I’ll only feature brands I truly love and think my readers will adore.
